Minneapolis School District

Southwest Pool & Locker Room Renovation - Minneapolis, MN:

  • Renovate the swimming pool, pool room, locker room, toilet and shower facility.
  • Pool modifications included a new balcony for spectator seating, ceiling to reduce sound level, ventilation system to provide supply air in appropriate spaces, pool depth to meet code for one meter diving board, lighting to meet code, new pool equipment and pool piping system to meet code. 
  • The locker, shower and toilet area were modified with new floors, ceiling, lockers, plumbing fixtures, lighting, etc.   

 Northeast and Dowling Pools & Locker Room Renovation - Minneapolis, MN:

  • Renovate the pool natatoriums and mechanical systems at two Minneapolis school district facilities. 
  • As part of this project we updated all mechanical systems (pumps, piping, filtration, balance tanks, HVAC and heating and control systems). 
  • Assessed and addressed all code issues and updated each facility to bring each pool system up to at least a 20 year life expectancy. 
  • Dowling swimming pool was built in 1936 and christened by FDR.  Room modifications were made to complement the pool’s historic character.
  • The Dowling pool is a therapeutic pool which is operated at 91°F water temperature. 

Swimming Pool Equipment Review and Report on four Swimming

Pools - Minneapolis, MN:

  • Perform walk through and provide a risk assessment of swimming pools at Southwest High School, Franklin Middle School, Dowling Elementary School, Northeast Middle School and Olson Middle School. 
  • The assessment includes a condition report of the swimming pool equipment including pumps, filters, balance tanks, chemical treatment systems, controls, pool water supplies, pool gutter drains, associated piping, valves and controls. 
  • Also recommended replacement items to provide 20 additional years of life expediency. 
  • Code compliance review includes spacing of pool water supplies and gutter drain, water flow requirements, pipe sizing, main drain covers, deck drain discharge, ventilation requirements, lighting requirements, electrical power requirements, pool deck markings, pool ladders and pool equipment.
  • An opinion of construction budget was associated with the three categories.

 

Roseville School District

Swimming Pool Renovation &  Boiler Addition - St. Paul, Minnesota:

  • Replace existing pool equipment including filters, pumps, heaters, treatment equipment, and piping to meet code.
  • Replace existing pool ventilation unit with a dehumidification system which has the ability to heat pool water with rejected compressor heat.
  • New automatic pool covers.
  • New gas fired low pressure steam boiler, interconnected to the existing steam distribution system, to provide summer heat for domestic hot water and pool heating.
  • Replace lighting in pool room.

Swimming Pool Renovation &  Boiler Addition - St. Paul, Minnesota:

  • Provide Construction Management Assistance to keep project on schedule and in budget.
  • Assist Owner in
    • pre-purchasing major equipment
    • developing multiple bids
    • managing construction.
  • Project completed in budget and time required.

Little Canada  Boiler Addition - St. Paul, Minnesota:

  • New gas / oil fired low pressure steam boiler to provide primary heating to existing system.
  • Boiler is a back-up to a single twenty year old boiler.
  • Boiler size was reduced to provide full heating capacity to approximately 10°F.  It is anticipated that the existing boiler will be fired to handle loads below 10°F.  If the existing boiler fails to operate, the new boiler can maintain building temperatures with ventilation systems reduced.
  • Submit information for Xcel energy payback.

Roseville School District Various Projects - Falcon Heights, Minnesota:

  • Falcon Heights Middle School, Edgerton Middle School, Brimhall Elementary.
  • Additions built and remodeling of the schools including boiler additions.
